This presentation will introduce CNGI project and CNGI-CERNET2 (China Education and Research Network) nationwide IPv6 testbed. The current situation in both IPv4 and IPv6 is the destination address based forwarding and it¡¯s easy for attacker to launch attacks with spoofed source address. This presentation will introduce the Source Address Validation Architecture (SAVA) and the SAVA test bed deployed upon CNGI-CERNET2. The recently created IETF SAVI (Source Address Validation Improvements) working group will be also introduced.

Short Bio: Mr. Jun Bi received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree in computer science from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Currently he is a Full Professor and Director of Network Architecture & IPv6 Research Division, Network Research Center of Tsinghua University and Network Center of China Education and Research Network (CERNET). He was a postdoctoral scholar and research scientist of Bell Laboratories Research in the USA.
His research interests include Internet architecture and protocols, next generation Internet, high performance routers/switches, source address validation, Internet routing, IPv4/IPv6 transition, etc. He had successful led tens of government supported or international collaboration research projects, published more than 60 research papers, filed tens of innovation patents, and received national science and technology achievement awards.

Invited talk title: Future and Future Technologies: Prediction of society, economy, and technologies in the future

Abstract: Mobile phone and internet have changed our lives significantly. They not only have changed our life styles, they also have changed our mind and behaviors. Most futurists predict there will soon be another big bang in technologies. As earthquake comes unexpectedly, future technological shocks may come to us anytime. It will again change our society and economy. Outlook and prediction of coming future can give insights on their future researches to the researchers in technologies.
One of the big questions today is ¡®what will be the next leading industry after information technologies?¡¯ Information technologies have led the world economy of 21st century. Information technologies will, however, be ¡®melting down¡¯ to all products and services. ¡®Melting down¡¯ means standardization of a technology and less profits from this technology. As the time of hunting and collection, the time of agriculture, and the time of industry have gone, the time of information technologies will be gone soon or later.
The time of agriculture is gone long time ago. We, however, produce more agricultural products. Though the time of industry is gone, we produce much more diverse industrial products. ¡®Melting down¡¯ also means convergence of information technologies to other technologies such as life sciences, biology, robotics and communications to create much more new products and services. Like electricity and water, it will be an inevitable part or material for all kinds of goods and services in the future. We expect this technological convergence will bring us ¡®a new technological big bang¡¯ in near future.
