Call for Invited Sessions

Following the tradition, ICIS2009 invited sessions will provide the participants with opportunities to discuss and explore emerging areas of Interaction Sciences with fellow students, researchers, and practitioners in special area.

Organizers of Invited Sessions undertake to:
- Select a topic of interest to themselves and to conference delegates.
- Distribute a Call for Papers for the session.
- Select at least 6 registered papers for the session.
- Check that the papers are suitable for the conference.
- Have these papers reviewed by at least two experts in the field.

- Invited session organizers will be included in the Associate Editors list to be published in the proceedings.
- Invited session organizers will act as chairs of their respective sessions. Respectively they will be noted as Session Chairs in the Program and in the conference proceedings.
- Invited session organizers can have their own schedule as long as the camera-ready deadline is met.
- Invited session organizers will participate in the Program Committee of current and future conferences.

Invited Session Organizer's FAQ

(1) Deadline for the Invited Session:

Organizers of invited sessions can decide their own papers submission / notification deadline. But we recommend keep the date information of ICIS2009.

(2) Submission for final accepted papers of the invited session:

Due to the publication schedule, invited session organizers should upload the accepted paper list (paper number, title, corresponding author name, contact e-mail address) and the final accepted papers to the "Submission of Accepted papers of invited sessions"(will be opend) before June 10.

(3) Proceedings of the invited session:

Proceedings for the invited sessions will be included in the proceedings of ICIS2009 .

(4) Submission method for the invited session:

Method: By e-mail of the invited session organizer.
Generally, we recommend the case1. It is the responsibility of the invited session organizer to collect papers, process reviews, make decisions about acceptance and rejection.
We also believe that invited session organizers may have more autonomy by having their own review process seperate from the main session.

(5) How can I or other reviewers review the submitted papers? I need to know if there are any official tools for receiving reviewer comments.

Ans.: Each invited session organizer is responsible for establishing their own review process for the papers submitted to each invited session. We don't need the review documents.

(6) How can I contact authors for accept/reject notification?

Ans.: Each invited session organizer should keep in touch with authors using whatever means necessary. In many cases, email would work fine, though it may require appropriate attention on both sides. invited session organizers are responsible for maintaining communication and keeping those on file.

(7) Can you tell me the general registration fees for the conference?

Ans.: The registration fee is not determined yet. It will be determined by situational factors such as number of expected registrants, local sponsors, and etc.

(8) Can the conference organizers make a bill(receipt) when the author attends the conference?

Ans.: Receipt for the conference registration will be made for each registrant and given out with the conference proceedings at the conference site by the main conference office.

(9) How can an invited session organizer submit accepted papers to ICIS?

Ans.: By e-mail. Please be ready to send a complete list of accepted papers for the session. Please send your e-mails to the workshops chair: Dr. Franz Ko (franzicis@aicit.org)

(10) The registration fee for effective invited session organizers* will be waived.

However, extra-pages fee, second paper fees, and other additional charges will not be waived. If there are two (or more) co-organizers, the registration fee will be waived for only one of them.

*Effective invited session organizers: those who have, in their respective sessions, at least six (6) authors who have paid all the registration fees. In this case, the registration fee for the invited session's organizer will be waived.
