IS1: Target Tracking Protocols in Wireless Sensor Networks
Scope/Topic :
Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) constitute a significant technology of today, attracting considerable research interest from various disciplines. Self-localization and self-tracking capabilities are highly desirable characteristics of wireless sensor networks. In environmental monitoring applications such as bush fire surveillance, water quality monitoring and precision agriculture, the measurement data are meaningless without knowing the location from where the data are obtained; and then tracking it inorder to take some measures in future. Moreover, target tracking may enable a myriad of applications such as inventory management, intrusion detection, road traffic monitoring, health monitoring, reconnaissance and surveillance.
This session intends to cover the fundamental theories, the state-of-the-art research findings, and experimental studies and applications of WSN target tracking techniques.
Topic of Interest:
- Target Tracking Algorithms
- Target Prediction Algorithms
- Target Classification Schemes
- Error Correction and Avoidance Schemes for Tracking
- Multiple Target Tracking Schemes
- Energy Efficient Tracking Schemes
- Recharging Sensor Batteries in Harsh Environments, etc.
- Novel Localization Algorithms
- Measurements techniques used in WSN localization
- Graph theoretical analysis of characteristics of WSNs and application of such analysis to WSN localization
- Target Detection Approaches
- Target Classification Algorithms

IS3: Intelligent Data Analytics
Scope/Topic :
Data analytics is the science of collecting, modeling, and analyzing data with the aim of highlighting useful information, usually for supporting decision making. Intelligent data analytics has recently become a hot interdisciplinary research area focusing upon methodologies and techniques, mainly by fusing the state-of-the-arts of intelligent algorithms and analytics tools.
This objective of this session is to bring together a wide variety of researchers - both academic and industrial - who are concerned with analyzing knowledge from data, including people from statistics, optimization, machine learning, data mining, computer science, database management, data visualization, and other areas.
It is anticipated that the stimulated interactions between these different areas, could converge to more powerful tools emerge for data analysis and a better understanding is developed of the process of intelligent data analysis.
